Do you know the old African adage ‘It takes a whole village to bring up a child”? There is some truth in it and if you are someone who believes in supporting young people to make positive life decisions perhaps volunteering with our youth team is for you. We want the youngsters to have fun as well, and Open Access Youth Work will take place for two hours on a Monday and Wednesday evening. You can choose how many sessions you do in a week or a fortnight. Full training will be given and a DBS check is required for this role. Email nick@luxyouthproject.co.uk

This involves welcoming people to The Hive, selling items such as puzzles and books, handling small amounts of money, answering the phone, photocopying and printing occasionally and generally running the office.
Full training will be given.
You can do 3 hours per week or 3 hours per month, whatever you can give!

We want to keep The Hive Community Centre looking well cared for and welcoming for the community. Tasks involve mowing, strimming, edging, weeding, and sweeping the car park. Eventually we want to develop a garden which the café can use in the summer. We ask for a half day a week or a fortnight and full training will be given for this role.

If you have a passion for DIY and maintenance we are looking for volunteers to assist us with a wide range of jobs that crop up daily in the Hive. Anything from changing a light bulb to fixing a door lock, to maybe a spot of painting.

Pantry
This would involve helping run our low cost food club on a Friday afternoon. Receiving a delivery of food, distributing this food, taking payment and being welcoming.
Community Fridge
Could you pick up a delivery of food from a local shop and bring it to The Hive? Could you come and clean the fridge and shelves? Then this is the volunteering opportunity for you!
